Hospital Confinement & Emergency Room Benefits
What would happen to your business if you were confined to a hospital? Can you afford to find out? Even if you have a disability policy in effect, most likely you will have a waiting period of 30-90 days. Could your business survive that long?
Being self-employed and operating a small business you cannot afford to be disabled, ill, hurt, or hospitalized for any length of time. This benefit automatically provides NASE Premier Resource Members and their families with a very valuable benefit in the event they are hospitalized or treated in an emergency room.

Definitions:
Accident: Means an injury sustained by a Principal Member or dependent while coverage is in force which directly and independently of sickness and other causes results in a loss for which benefits are provided.
Illness: Means a sickness or disease of a principal Member, the symptoms of which begin after coverage becomes effective and while coverage is in force.
Principal Member’s Dependents: The Principal Member’s lawful spouse, the Principal Member’s natural, adopted and stepchildren who are under 21 years of age (the limiting age). The limiting age is extended to age 24 if the child is enrolled as a full-time student and attends classes regularly at an accredited college or university.
The coverage will terminate on the earliest of the following dates: for Principal Members, Spouses and Dependents: on the date the Master Policy terminates, on the date the Principal Member ceases to be a Member in good standing of the National Association for the Self-Employed, on the date written notice of your request to terminate is received. For Principal Members and Spouses: the date he/she reaches age 65; for all Dependents: the date he/she no longer qualifies as an eligible Dependent of the Principal Member, with respect to a child, the date he/she reaches the limiting age.
